About One Love Tennis C.I.C. | Community Interest Company

One Love Tennis C.I.C. was incorporated on 4 July 2023 as a Community Interest Company — a type of organisation that exists to benefit the community rather than private shareholders. Our registered office is in Littleport, Ely.

Our mission is simple: no child or family in Ely should be shut out of tennis because of cost, access, or circumstance.

What a CIC means for you: Community Interest Companies are legally required to work for the benefit of the community, with an asset lock preventing funds being diverted away from our community purpose. Everything we raise and fund goes back into local access to tennis.

Our focus areas:

• Access — funding free and subsidised places for children from families who couldn't otherwise afford coaching
• Facilities — working to secure better, permanent tennis facilities for Ely, including our application (with planning consultants Carter Jonas) for four new courts and a clubhouse to serve the growing local demand for court time
• Schools — partnering with local primary schools to bring tennis into the school day and beyond

Our history:

In 2025 we submitted a planning application to East Cambridgeshire District Council for four new tennis courts and a small clubhouse, to be delivered in partnership with 10is Academy, in response to growing demand for court access in Ely. Although the application — and a subsequent appeal — were not successful, we remain committed to securing a permanent, accessible home for grassroots tennis in the town, and continue to work with the council, local schools, and coaching partners toward that goal.
